#DPS Pers Animation Ctrlr
5 messages in this thread
Anyone have any experience with the DPS Personal Animation Controller? I'm
looking for comments while considering a purchase…
Thanks in advance for any help.

Pete,
I have a PAR, and there are a few others around here that have one. I
think everyone has nothing but praise for it – it's really a fantastic
piece of hardware. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Rick,
Thanks for your reply. Here's the couple of questions that came to mind:
Originally I was single framing to Beta-SP using a Nucleus Personal SFC. What
kind of quality differences are there between the PAR and something
single-framed to tape?
I use Imagine. Can you render directly to the PAR, or do you have to render to
individual IFF24 or RGB8 files and then use a program supplied by DPS to create
the animation (obviously the former is preferable to the latter)?
Thanks again.

Pete,
I have a PAR with a Micropolis 1.6 gig hard drive. I use it with Imagine.
You just set up Imagine to record the pictures to DDR: (that is the
designation or the PAR's hard drive), and the PAR compiles the animation.
I output to 3/4 and HI-8 nad have had no complaints. I have also used it
for slow and fast motion playback of recorded video.
