#.FLI to .AVI Conversion?

I have completed a job for a client (one of my first, I am proud to say!) and
after much ado, he has requested the output that I had produced in .FLI format
to be converted to .AVI format so that it could be integrated into some
customized windows based software. I heard mention in a thread here of a
conversion utility for this purpose. Could someone, ANYONE, point me in the
right direction??

there is a program called "Razor" 301-831-5008. this program is a full blown
video editor with avi output for windows. it really is a very cool program!
one of the options in this program is to load flc. files as a video segment for
editing. you can easly load a flc. file in razor and without any editing
produce avi file. ofcourse the program is capable of a lot more than this.
as far as a dedicated flc to avi convertor, i dont know any. if you come
accross one please let me know.

I have Razor and tried flc to avi and failed with GPF. I even got a new version
1.0a and it still does not work.
VFW 1.1a does not handle the flc to avi correctly either but it did not do GPF.
It handles small fli OK.
What was your experience with flc to avi? You seen to have a better luck.

i have not really tried this. but according to the manual it should be able to
do it!

Try using Adobe Premere for windows. I've created avi's from FLC's and multiple
TGA's and it seems to work fine.

FLI -> AVI
If you have the Video for Windows software, not just the runtime utility, you
can import the FLI file directly. VFW will read in an FLI file.
There are other software packages that will do this conversion as well. Adobe
Priemier, Insinc Audio-visual recorder, and Razor to name a few.
There are some shareware programs that will do this conversion. Image alchemy
Graphic Workshop for Windows does. Others may be available on the graphics
forums as well.
You can also do the converion manually. Use DTA.ZIP or NUMPIC to get your FLI
file into a series of sequential TGA files, and then CVTAVI.ZIP to go from TGA
files to AVI an file.
There ya go….a plethora of choces. (that was my SAT word for the day.)
