File Transfer Protocol. It is a means of transmitting files on Internet
from a remote system to your local system. I don't know how it relates to
Cd-rom, except that there are Cd-Rom discs (Simtel-20, Garbo) that are
compilations of the files available from those Internet sites and the files
can also be obtained through FTPing them from a local Internet site.
