Sooooo…… Let's just look at the Audio for Starters: Without a doubt the highest quality sound card "Bang for the Buck" is the Turtle Beach systems Monterey Sound Card with SampleStore that allows you to take a WAV file and use it as a MIDI instrument. The Digital Audio is THE BEST! We're starting with this as your sound card, OK? This is Critical. I would Then Pick up a Copy of Their WAVE 2.0 Sound Editor for Windows 3.1. This has multple sound processing effects, sound speed control, Context-sensitive online help and Microsoft ADPCM compression, Records up to 44.1kHz sampling rates, the usual Cut & Paste Editing, Gain Adjustment, Full Undo, Visual Analysis, Waveform Drawing, Cross Fading, Digital Equilizaton, Sound Mixing, Time Compression/Expansion and you can Import and Export to .SMP, .SFI, .WAV, 16, 8, and VOC file formats in addition you can change the sample rate of the file while converting using WAVE's true sample rate converter. To this I would add Turtle Tools and in Particular Turtle Beaches' "QUAD STUDIO" four track Digital Audio Software. QUAD is AMAZING!…Four tracks in real time on your PC. you can record, overdub, mix and bounce tracks in real time with no loss in sound quality. It's all done on your PC with Windows. Of course if your Really Serious about all this you'd want to look at picking up a Good Voice Mike, Headset, and of course the Stereo mixing console of your choice! You could go to radio shack and pick up an inexpensive $110. dollar Stereo Mixing console if your low on funds,… however, I can Highly recommend the MACKIE 1600 Series it's around $800, if that's too much the MicroSeries 1202 is a great buy with a list of $399.
