#Memory Managers?
4 messages in this thread
Hope someone can help or stear me in the right direction ?!
I'm currently using QEMM 7.5 memory manager and in general it has been
fine. Until, that is, that I try to load my PhoneNet PC networking
software. **I use PhoneNet PC to file share with the MACS in my 2 PC
(both are mine) 5 Macintosh department and to print to the Mac
printers. So it is a mildly critical thing for me to get figured
out. **
Things are fine on my P60 w/32meg – everything works. My P90 w/64
meg on the otherhand…was working fine and then "blam"! – now it
crashes on boot up…it gives me a QEMM EXCEPTION #6 error. I've
checked for the conflict and can't find it.
Anyway…I digress… Has anyone heard anything (pos. or neg.) about
NETROOM 3 (memory manager) by Vertisoft Systems? Does anyone know
of a different network software that will let me exchange files with
macs, go to printers and still file share between my PC's ?
T.I.A. for any/all help
Gary 🙂
Gary You mentioned that everything was fine until you tried to load
your PhoneNet PC Networking software……..was this a new program
you just loaded on to your system? Did you run Optomize again after
loading the new software? Murph'

Im using it and it frees up lots of conventional memory. I gained 100k over
memmaker. I havnt had any problems …so far.

Hi Gary,
If you are just using the network for the first time on that machine, then we
should check for conflicts before jumping to blame QEMM. Is this running on
ethernet or did you install an Appletalk card? Have you checked the IRQ
allocation in CMOS?
Give me a call.
