Hi James Thanx for great tips …. I'm still using a Soundblaster AWE 32, but only for fun. Now, as I mentioned, I want to combine some of my animation with soundeffects. But in this kind I don't know waht kind of software I should use, for example to combine a scene with a special soundeffect ? << To this I would add Turtle Tools and in Particular Turtle Beaches' "QUAD STUDIO" four track Digital Audio Software. QUAD is << AMAZING!…Four tracks in real time on your PC. << you can record, overdub, mix and bounce tracks in real time with no loss in sound quality. It's all done on your PC with Windows. True << Digital….I love It! <G> What is the price for QUAD Studio ? I have CATWALK, it was added to the soundblaster card here ? Is it useful for me ? Grettings Tom

Thomas, >>> But in this kind I don't know what kind of software I should use, for example to combine a scene with a special soundeffect ? <<< Here's where it get's tricky. Do you have a DPS-PAR Setup? If So, then you could easily purchase Razor Pro for your editing software. This would allow you to read and write in the PAR's native .ani file format so that you wouldn't have to suffer doing conversions between the different file formats for editing and going out to tape. The Razor Pro package creates AVI files for editing but then automaticly can use the AVI as marker information while looking at the native .ani files on the PAR it then changes only the transitions and compiles the complete piece with audio layed off to your computer's hard drive but tied to it for proper sync. on the playback. If you're looking at editing software you really have to look at where your heading as far as the hardware goes too. You can invest a lot more and get in to a top end digital setup like the Fast Video Machine's Professional Version or Hybrids like D-Vision enev Matrox, the list goes on and on. Basicly who are your clients…Architects, Cable Companies, NetWork BroadCast etc. That's going to determine how much you've got to invest to please the client. I suspect the New PAR would be a good choice but I don't have enough information about your market to tell you that. <g> The Quad Studio Product has a Suggested List of $195. If you want me to give you quotes on Street Price/Value and etc. we should take this to private E-Mail. >> I have CATWALK << I never cared much for cats, or keeping any pets other than fish for that matter but I suspect you might be talking about "CAKEWALK" which is a popular package…<BG> I suspect you'll find it usefull. What part of the country did you say you were from? You might benifit from our up-coming 3D Artists Conference and Seminars Program which will take place August 14th, 15th, and 16th in Appleton Wisconsin's Bourdini Center again this year. If your interested let me know and please E-Mail me an address I can mail lit. to as well as a Phone number. I'll get back to you. Murph'
