Questions: 1. What is the best platform for animation (PC, Mac, Amiga) and why? 2. What is the best software (3D Studio, Lightwave, etc) and why?

[BG] There is no one single best hardware/software platform for every user. It depends on what you want to accomplish. Two of the best PC based packages are 3DS and Lightwave.

Let's say we want to do everything from flying logos to business animations to commercials eventually. I've heard Lightwave is a whole lot easier to learn, and that 3D is very difficult to draw stuff in.

<<1. What is the best platform for animation (PC, Mac, Amiga) and why? PC, because its the only platform that runs 3ds. <<2. What is the best software (3D Studio, Lightwave, etc) and why? 3DS is best ( what do you expect from the 3ds forum?) Its the most full featured ( including plug ins which most of us do ) Its a very productive enviornment, easy to work quickly. Its very stable. With the largest user base and open architecture, programmers respond to user demands. Brent, there are a lot of cheaper ways to go and Ive tried a few but they arnt really cheaper if your time is worth much. Ed
