Think I found the culprit– some recently installed windoze software modified
my config.sys file and removed the "files=40" line. I replaced it, and thinks
seem OK now. I believe it happend due to my having a boot-menu, so the last
"files" line was modified, but the one for 3DS booting was just deleted. I
spent about two hours today tracking it down after 'vapor' wouldn't work
either. Kept getting a net log from the slave saying it couldn't find
'vapor_i.axp'.
I hope Bill Gates gets what is coming to him…. Naturally, the software should
remain nameless- oh what the hell, it was either ProComm for Windoze or Dell's
Spry Internet package. Buyers beware!
