#Printing color service?

** Unrelated alert ** <g> In the March/April 1995 issue of COLOR Publishing Magazine, there is an article titled "HiFi Color", subtitled "Promises Livelier Print Market". Since I know that some of you are involved with print media, I am wondering if there is a service bureau that can do the type of printing that is illustrated in that magazine. If so, please provide name, location, and telephone. Thanks in advance. Alternatively, if there is a better place on Compuserve that deals with print matters and service bureaus, please identify the Go —- Command. Thanks again.

After looking for HP, I did FIND COLOR and found the Desktop Publishing forum (DTPFORUM) which has a service bureau section. I will see if I get any response from that quarter. Thanks.

Albert – Glad you seem to have leads on your color printing service. Given a bit of looking, you can find just about anything you want on Compuserve. I frequently use the PCFF (PC File Finder) to search for topics and it will give me a list of all the files matching my criteria and what forums they are in. Saves an awful lot of looking. Anne

James – Both PCFF and MACFF are services here on CIS (Compuserve). You would use the GO PCFF to find files that pertain to DOS and GO MACFF for the Mac files. It is an added cost, not a basic service but saves a lot of time looking for something. I beleive that the FF (file finder) picks up on Key words in library files. For example if you wanted a virus checker, you would use VIRUS as one key word and DOS (or Windows) as a second to narrow the search. A list of the file names and what forum they are on will come up. It stands for PC File Finder so it would be used to find PC type files. It seems to work from a database and sometimes is not completely up to date, I have found from experience. If you are looking for a forum, the better approach is the FIND command, i.e. FIND MULTIMEDIA or FILE HP.
