Gee, Virtual Reality, that must be interesting I bet you have a degree in
Rocket Propulsion. How many Silicon Graphics machines have you got since I only
know how to use the Indigo Extreme.

I know how to make a box and if you ask nicely enough maybe a sphere. I hope
you don't need too much realism in your project since I don't like texture maps
and prefer to use POV for all my complex modelling.
I can't speak a word of French but talk English with a really bad Australian
accent. I hope ya don't mind mate.

I don't know. If you are interesting I might be interested in being interested
in you.

Hmmm, I wonder if anyone could ever find a job through CompuServe? Maybe I
should try….how about I come around to your joint(Australian colloquilism)
tomorrow around 6pm and see what you've got.
By the way do you have brown eyes. I ONLY work for Project Managers with brown
eyes.
ONLY KIDDING LAURENT!!! <g>
See ya tomorrow.

HEY! Nobody in this forum except us hobbyists, the ones stuck on the
tutorial to "Deform Fit model Boogers for Mount Rushmore"! Tssk! How
American!!
Can anyone get a job thru Cserve? I don't know but I'm picking up Jim
Murphy for the 5:00pm feature of
Johnny M tomorrow evening, we could swing by and pick up you and Laur in my
Caddy. You could sling the
ol' SGI Indigo Supreme in back (or just use mine) and maybe we could get a
serious game of Solitaire' going!!
I got a case of Road Knight Icin' as we speak!!
Hope you land the big one! Is he from Delphine? Ask him when the English
version of "Crossfire" and
and "Heart of Darkness" will be here? Gary
I don't know if you sent this to the wrong person, but hey I'll jump in.

Gee, and all this time I thought you Americans were stuck on the Deformt Fit
model of a Hotdog Stand with extra mustard. I could never quite get the decal
bitmap "Have a nice day!" on the side of the stand to align properly <g>
<<Can anyone get a job thru Cserve?>>
I'm working freelance for the company mentioned so Compuserve it is a good
point of contact, though there isn't so many offers here in France, since
CompuServe isn't as well known.

Sure, I'll be waiting at the door at 5pm and don't break the date!

Huh??
Gary, are you any relation to Kevin Gibson or were you both sharing the same
fallout shelter during some atomic testing?

With regards to "Heart of Darkness". It's a Paris developed,
animated, Interactive movie I thought was only available in Europe and was
already released!
I misunderstood the release date for the cd and after looking a
little closer it's the 4th quarter of 95. Sorry!
I guess I owe you a better explanation for "Heart Of Darkness"! I
get a magazine called "Next Generation" that is a gaming industry publication
that reviews Studios and producers of new product.
The mag also reviews the insane world of the corporate giants, their talented
employees, the platforms they development and development techniques.
In the June issue there is a large article about a Paris based studio
called Amazing Studio that ( through
Virgin Interactive in London) is releasing a pc based cd game called "Heart of
Darkness", which has
been under development since 1992. Amazing Studio is a 12 man company . A guy
named Frederic Savoir
is the lead coder and Eric Chahi the lead animator.
It's supposed to set a new definition for "Interactive Movie" and
what's unique about it's development is that the design team tested
hardware/software combinations prior to production and decided against SGI in
favor of 3dstudio. "We thought about using Silicon Graphics and we tried
them, " says Eric Chahi "But they're expensive and so is the software. They
were very good but when we tested them (end of 1993) they were full of bugs and
for the price that is unacceptable."
It's a very exciting article and even though I'm far from that industry
I think the effort that their product is absolutely INCREDIBLE!
I guess Paris is a pretty big town, huh! The photo of the development
team makes them look like French
underground……..minus berets and striped shirts, of course!!<G> See you
tonite, unless I can't get my
car out of the shop! Gary

I've heard about them in folklore but have yet to meet them.

You should check out the web page on the Johnny Mnuemonic where some of the
production guys were freaking that SGI weren't used, then after seeing the
results they calmed considerbly, and I'm sure the accountant was smiling the
widest.
<<I guess Paris is a pretty big town, huh!>>
Yeh, I've got an estimated 2.5 million neighbours.

Yeh, pale slightly fluorescent skin with shallow foreboding eyes and a mind
that drools at the mere mention of "cool graphics". Just your standard 3DS user
right?
<<See you tonite>>
Yep, in spirit but not in body.
