"Jack, >> SLOWER THAN…. << Well I highly suspect that report that the NT version is slower than the standard DOS version. I have both 12 and 13 and I can't find any evidence to support that contention." Well, you're findings weren't supported by CADALYST (Autodesk)… "So cool it! If you want to worry about something, worry about the war in Bosnia or something. " Yes Dad, sorry Dad.. <bg> You seem to have an allergy when it comes to other people's opinions. All I quoted was CADALYST's finding an Autocad (not even to you, btw) and I wanted to know if that would happen to the rel 5 also, well, now that Garry has taken my (admittedly overcautios) worries, I'm happy as can be. I already bought and installed NT on my machine (in anticipation), though I can't get my HP scanner and Canon BJC 820 to work, I can't wait to get the NT 3DS. It will be nice to be able to twiddle textures in my paint progs, WHILE I'm in 3DS etc. OOPS, better quit rambling, just heard sombody was shot in Bosnia again… "3DS has taken enough unwarranted hits on this subject and primarily due to considerations that have nothing to do with 3DS. If you want to stay with DOS awhile longer, you've got that option. R4 will continue to be marketed, sold and supported. But NT is the next step and a big one at that. " Nowhere did I state anything yielding these invalid inferences, plus, see answer above… "Be realistic in your needs and you'll decide what the best option is for you. Bashing 3DS one more time for going to NT is not going to achieve anything, except get people like me who want to go that route pissed off." This might be a personality problem… '-) Jack
