#AS and anti-alias
8 messages in this thread
One more quick question on anti-aliasing and Animator Studio:
If I have a pre-existing bitmap that contains text that I need to anti-alias,
how do I do it in AS?
I just recently received AS.. and from my limited understanding and going
through the tutorials, it seems the way to do it is to: 1) select the text to
be anti-aliased, 2) select the UnZag ink, 3) apply ink to selection
My question is, is this the right way? Also, is the UnZag ink the extent of the
anti-aliasing in AS?

this works. have you used airbrush to do this? (also works)… soften ink works
well too. another option if the original font you used was a .TTF, you can
reapply the text normally using alpha channel after cloning the background
clear of the text. whole lotta ways. experiment experiment experiment!

no "right way" to do anything in AStduio, and there are several ways to achieve
anti-aliasing (Unzag Ink included).

Anti-aliasing in Animator Studio has several selectable levels, just like in 3D
Studio.

I assume you're referring to the different inks, etc that can be used to
achieve the softening/unzagginess effect..? As opposed to 3D Studio's
analytical-antialiasing?

See the Settings/Preferences dialogue. You can set automatic anti-aliasing from
0 – 3.
gotcha .. thanks again.

No, in fact antialiasing is on all the tools, irregardless of inks.
If you've got a dealer, go see a demo, you should be able to try it out.
