This may very well be a foolish question, but it here it goes.
I would like to be able to view animations from 3ds at 30 frames per
second. It seems like I would be able to do this if I could convert
the animation to a mpeg file or something similar. I know that flics
are possible, but I need more than 256 colors, and as far as I know
that is the limit for flics. I would appreciate any pointers to
helpful information if the question is too silly.
Much thanks,
Matt Harrison
Possibly a good solution would be a Personal Animation
Recorder, which will play back animations @ 30fps with 16 million
colors, in real-time, from a dedicated IDE hard disk. The PAR uses 1
ISA slot (a 2nd if you want a real-time capture card), and lists for
$1995 + hard drive. The capture card, a TBC IV, lists for $995. A
PCI bus SCSI version will be shipping in the next month or two.
