I recently got my chinon drive running on a novell file server and was able
to access all of the standard cd's using corel scsi software ($99), as
opposed to trying to get micro design's software upgraded (since they
apparetly have two versions, one for jukebox support only and one that
supports cd-rom's also). Since MD seems to cost hundreds more, I decided
to forgo it, and try Corel – not a bad system – pretty simple. The only
thing I couldn't get going was the CD-audio (or any cd-rom player for that
matter) off of the server.
Is there any software out there that will play an audio cd-rom while the
drive is mounted on the server?
From what I recall COREL scsi doesn't support CD audio on a network server.
You should try COREL's forum to get the info directly from them. (GO COREL)
