Help!!! I can't get my background images to appear clear in my working views. They are just somewhat recognizable gray tones. They only appear clear if the image is rendered. I'm using 3DS ver 3 with an ATI Mach 64 graphics card. I'm only three days into 3DS and loving it. Hate these hang-ups. Any help is appreciates.

>They are just somewhat recognizable gray tones. They only appear clear if the image is >rendered I'm sure the experts will set you straight, but it sounds like everything is actually okay. You won't see your background images "clear" until you render — all you can see before that is the image in grey tones which can be somewhat adjusted for slightly better clarity (I'm in WinCim right now so I can't check, but there is an option off the main menu for adjusting your background image). I can hardly wait for the NT version (which I assume will allow us to see the background images better, not to mention perhaps even sequenced).

Yep they do appear in Grays and you can bugger around with there Contrast etc but thats it, Mind you they are usefull for placing lights objects etc… Try using the Fast Camera Preview for object placement instead if you have a very fast machine! Greg 🙂

I sent a message some time ago to Gary about create flat geometry that represents the background bitmap precisely. Anne or Jonas might still have a copy if you are interested. DaviD "proxy" GouID

Very good idea <David>, this would be very handy in Fast Camera Preview as well
