I just got 3ds release 2 a few months ago i was wondering if there is any way to make a gif into .shp format. i want to take just the outline of a object and i can not do that is there a way you can? thanks Chris

Chris Within 3DS, you could load the GIF as a background image (Render/Setup/Background/Bitmap in 3DEditor, then View/See Background in 2DShaper) and trace over it. Some forum members have used a feature in Corel called Trace then save it as a DXF file to load into the shaper. I have no experience with that, so maybe someone can fill in the detail. Chris, I have seen a utility up here for quite a while called gifdxf.zip. What it's supposed to do is convert a gif to a dxf file. Location on compuserve: Forum: Graphics Library: Raytrace Sources Title : gif to dxf converter File : GIFDXF.ZIP Maybe this will help you out. I've never used it, just seen it. Good Luck, Paul
