Hi – Hey, is there a problem with the Vibrant drivers for 3DS4 with the new-S3-chip version of the DS64PCI 2Mb DRAM? I've got a new Zeos P90 network station that came with the low-end DS64 and Studio won't run but in the VESA modes. I hear rumors that there are problems with the new integral-MPEG 4MB VRAM version, but this bit with the 2Mb DRAM is new. I've got another machine with an older version of the same card and it works just fine, and BOTH machines (the first and the replacement) from ZEOS have the problem. ????? Eric, First, are you using the latest version of the Vibrant Drivers? They have been updated recently. Download VIB3DS.ZIP if you haven't in the past month or so. Also, have you tried the various S3 selections? I know there is more than one choice for S3, maybe one works, and one doesn't. Last, if this particular version of the S3 chip is not supported, I will submit a wishlist item for the next rev. of the drivers to support that flavor of S3. -Brian

Hi Brian, Thanks for your response. It's working. I had gotten some erroneous tech support saying that the differences between 1.0.5 (?) and the posted 1.0.6 (?) wouldn't affect the card. That was wrong. Second, there WAS a hardware problem with the first machine, which prevented the new drivers from mattering. I had neglected to try the new drivers with the replacement…. Second machine, new drivers off the Vibrant BBS, and it appears to be A-OK. Thanks again. -Eric/Sisyphus Graphics/Sisyphus Software

Eric It seems that Diamond has made a change to the bios of the newer Stealth cards. Undoubtably, Vibrant is working on the problem and will get it fixed eventually. Waiting together…… TedB -Ted Boardman !^NavFont01F0007MGHHGA2564F
