Hi there, this is the first time for me on this board, and i hope, someone can help me. Often i am rendering for architects, who like to have very big pictures like 4 – 6 x 2 meters in good quality. Is it possible to render more than 9999 x 9999 pixels? Thanks for help Claus

Claus: FWIW, 9999×9999 would give you a file size of 286 MB if rendered in 24 bit color and just over 96MB in 8 bit. Do you have the resources to create, store, transport and print files this large? The 9999 pixel size may be a limit, we'll have to await official word on this one. Bob

Hi Robert, thank you for your answer. In the actual case, i have to make a picture like 4 x 1 meter. The photoshop who prints the picture is able to scale the borders to double size without loosing qualility. The print-quality has to be 80 lines/cm. So i think this way: length-side: 400 cm x 80 lines = 32.000 lines. 32.000 / 2 (job of the photoshop) = 16.000 lines high-side: 100 cm x 80 line = 8.000 lines. 8.000 / 2 (job of the photoshop) = 4.000 lines (here no problem) I thing, i try to render with the _render_blow_up_ function and render four times the 4000 x 4000. My problem is, it has to be finish in 4 days. Thanks for your help. Claus

Claus, Assuming your system can actually render the image (this is a tremendously large image you are rendering) you can render at resolutions larger than 9999 by using command line rendering. There is a 9999 restriction in the render/setup dialogue box, because there are only four spaces for numbers. Check out chapter 2 in the advanced users guide which talks about command line rendering. -brian

Thank you for the tip. I will try it at the next job. (have never used the command line rendering bevor) 😉 thanks again Claus Diekmann
