"We are seeking documentation on aaplay.dll." You should get the "ASL" – Animation Support Libraries document from Autodesk. Call 800/879-4322 or 415/507-5000×6901. It's around $30. The documentation is not perfect, alas, and could benefit from more example code, but it is the best documentation we have.

Thanx Nik…. Actually, what might be more helpful today is to know who has taken over Chris Allis' role. I'm a registered multimedia developer…and would like to contact that group for some support before the end of the working day…. As I mentioned earlier…this is urgent from our viewpoint…. Could you refer me to who handles the Registered Multimedia Developers program now….a phone number or name will do it…. Thanx much Steve Pidgeon Pulse Productions Tampa, FL 813-977-8414

Thanx to all who replied….. FYI for anyone seeking the same info….. There is a file called vbplay.txt in the libraries that fully details the use of aaplay.dll by Visual Basic…. Thank you autodesk…it's a great document. Steve Pidgeon Pulse Productions Tampa, FL

Nik, It dawns on me that everyone is probably at the last day of the developers conference…. If you have any ideas on how I could find out the commands within aaplay.dll I would appreciate the leads…. I suppose that they are "load" "play" "pause" "unload" etc….but need firm docs to save time…. all advice appreciated GREATLY…. Steve Pidgeon Pulse Productions Tampa FL

Firm AAPLAY docs? Hmmm. I see this in a readme.doc, and I'll send you a file called AAPLAY.H which has some definitions which might be helpful. * * * * * * * * * * ** *** * * The following feature had been added to the AAPLAY.DLL: o The aaGetParm function has the new parameter value AA_PALETTE that returns a windows HPALETTE value. It is defined to be: #define AA_PALETTE 42

Stephen, There are DOCs for the AAPLAY.DLL, but not necessarily in electronic format. Here are the details on the ASL developers kit, and you don't need to go through Mark to get it…. It includes a full C and VB programmers reference for the .DLL. ——- What you need is the Animation Support Libraries, without a doubt! This developers kit includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more. You can order this kit directly from Autodesk by calling 800-964-6432. The kit costs about $25. "Animation Support Libraries R2.0 SAP# 03302-013303-9000".
