I'm a student interior/architecture and for next academic year I
want to design on my pc.So, my question is: is 3D-Studio suitable
for rendering interiors and applying textures.
And last but not least can a moderate pc handle all of this (486DX-66 with 8 mb
ram).I know this pc-configuration is very minimal in comparison to professional
systems, but I hope it can cope with 3d-Studio.
Thanks Dave from Belgium 🙂

Yes, you can certainly do very nice interiors with 3DS. However, interiors
with good shadows and reflections and materials tend to use up computer
resources. 8meg ram will not be enough for speedy renderings and 16meg may be
minimal. 32meg seems to be a starting point for high res architecturals. Don't
be discouraged thought, because you might be able to render the scene in
"layers" and composite them in Video Post.
Good luck
