Hope that somebody can help ?!!
While in Razor Pro….is it possible to use a Par still image for longer than
its single frame. In essence – stretch the "still" to remain on screen – ie.
for 30 frames (or whatever)?? I tried "stretching" it without success and
copying them "x" # of times doesn't seem too reasonable. Seems as though there
should be a simple solution for this – it's just managed to escape me !!

I'll be watching the replies you get, I have the same question. I hope to get
a PAR system next week and am worried about running out of drive space. I'd
hate to try editing the tape just to get a 5 sec. pause.
Does anyone know if there is a scripting utility like is used in "aaplayhi"?

There are two ways to keep an image on the timeline
for a number of frames.
1) Stretch the image along the timeline. A still
can only be stretched in one direction. Try the other
direction to make this work.
2) Use the freeze frame effect. This effect allows you
to repeat any frame for as many frames as you want.
A word of warning !
If you use a TGA or a STL file to composite an image
over another image then it will take around 10 times
longer to composite each frame than it would to
composite the same image if it was a single frame

A quick fix but none too scientific is to simply hit the pause during PAR
playback and let your vcr continue to record. For precision the par frame copy
is the method I would choose.

Indeed you should be able to just put the .TGA on the timeline and stretch it.
Many times what happens is that people will have an "accidental" series of
.TGAs. When Razor sees a series such as "TEST1.TGA", "TEST2.TGA", "TEST3.TGA",
etc…It will always pull them in as a series, and then you can't stretch them
without changing their speed. (Razor assumes 30 frames per second when you
bring in TGAs.)
Here is something that may interest you: recently a faithful Razor user did
some timings on his Pentium 90. He found that for 4 seconds worth of video it
took Razor:
Around :45 seconds to render the .ANI file
Around 7 minutes to render the .TGA equiv.
Around 9 minutes to render .STL files.
(These timings are heavily dependant on the PAR hardware and software.)

I wanted to point out a bug/problem when working with single frames:
If you have a single frame (or a very short clip), it can easily dissapear
completely from the screen if you zoom out a click or two. I'd suggest that you
maintain a mimimum size for a single frame — no matter how far one zooms out.
Or perhaps use a some sort of marker to show where the single frame is located.
I had a project with many single frames and clips of ten frames: they
continually got lost and caused all sorts of problems when I did the final
render because some "lost" clips turned out to be hidden underneath longer
clips. Why _are_ clips permitted to remain underneath other clips? Shouldn't RP
automatically prevent that from occuring ?

Yes, Alec, I have noticed this problem too…as far as I know, short of keeping
to a certain zoom level, single frames can go out of sight.
I will point this out to the programmers and have that fixed in a future
version of Razor.

I had a Par Still on the time line and tried stretching it to the right – it
wouldn't move. After several unsuccessful attempts ….I tried stretching it
to the left and what do know, it stretched. Why will it only stretch to the
left ?

WOW !! Why such a drastic difference ? Question: If you make a single frame
.ANI, can you stretch it ? or is there some other method of "looping" ?
