Ok David, I read your message. I don't have time for any detailed suggestions,
however, let me think about it for the weekend. One question I have right away,
why can't you boot from drive A:? There shouldn't be a problem with this. Plus,
you do have to set the internal switches for 2 diskette drives if you are going
to attach the 3.5" drive as an external drive. Or have you removed the 5.25"
internal drive?
Gene.
I got the HD bootable finally with a Y connector for the power supply. I now
have disconnected the floppy and get the error, press F1 message. I'm going to
try to find extensions for the power supply and floppy data connectors and
string them outside to a non-powered external box for the floppy so that A:
will be recognized. I'm now having problems with boot-up. from a cold start the
system will always fr4e3eze up. It seems to freeze after the binddrivers or
DJmount. I then do a warm boot and it usually works. Sometimes after a worm
boot it does a JH0: not recognized requester and I have to warm boot again.
Don't understand that but it has always eventually worked.
