Keith: I can't get your suggestion to work because every time I try it I get a can't open df1 error (using 2 drives). Once again, help!

Diane, If you have a 2000, then the external drive would be 'df2:' so to type a doc file…. type >prt: df2:Comm/comm.docs Another way to do it is to use the 'copy' command, like this… copy df2:Comm/comm.docs prt: Let me know how it goes. – Keith
