#Ultima IV

Autoduel ST is one of the most horrid pieces of software ever to be attempted
to be marketed to the American public, except for maybe MS-DOS.
The sound of the game is akin to a human with severe gastic distress, the
graphics are worse than what an Atari 2600 can do, the mouse controller
response absolutely dreadful, the disk access constant, the price very high,
and the bugs plentiful.
Henry,
If it was 1979, and you ran it on an Apple, it would be great. However…
It's 1988, and there is just a trifling bit more sophistication in the
hardware. Nice concept – but the implementation should get the writer
horsewhipped on nationwide TV during prime time.

I hope your talking about Autoduel – Ultima IV is probably my favorite game of
all time (getting ready to defend it to the death, withdrawing sword…)
Henry, Have you seen the advertisements for Fire And Forget. Looks like
Autoduel minus the role playing. 3D behind the vehicle graphics. Looks like
your car equipped with missiles and guns facing attack helicopters, tanks, etc.
Looks like it's going to be fun. Titus software says it will be released by end
of month. They've got a similar game with boats( so they keep refining the same
concept).

No I haven't but will keep an eye out – thanks!
I don't know Henry, maybe I should buy it… I enjoyed Starglider and Bard 's
Tale and you didn't like those either. <grin>
Well (grin) there is a difference – I can see (barely) an argument for
StarGlider and Bard's Tale, but there is no argument for Autoduel ST, it's
worse than a type-in program from Compute! for a VIC-20, converted (and not
enhanced) to an Amiga.
