You've confused me, too. I also have version 1.4 and it is copy protected (
the version I have at least). Maybe they stopped protecting it, or let a
copy slip by without it.
If it Gurus when you start it, just clicking on it's icon, without loading
DMCS then maybe you _are_ finding the copy-protection. However, as Ben noted
it should just ask you for the original. But then I haven't looked at the
installation procedure for a hard drive system.
