hi, a friend of mine with an a2000 and 2088 board is having trouble installing a hard disk. he isn't on compuserve but i told him i'd leave a notice for him here. maybe someone can help him out. he purchased a seagate st238r 30 meg hard drive and a controller with the #'s st10bios 0053.4 on it. i don't really know what those numbers mean. he's spent several hours trying to install the drive but the 2088 won't recognize it to even format it. he took the drive and controller to an xt clone, formatted it and tested it ok, pulled it and stuck it in the a2000 and it still wouldn't recognize the drive. i know this info is sort of sketchy, but i don't know much about xt's or installing hard drives on them. if someone has this or a similar setup, could you give me a checklist of things to do to install it properly? thanks for your time…

Reinhard, I don't know what controller card he is using (I don't recognize that part #), but if the set up works on an XT, it should work just fine on the BridgeBoard. I've got a HD hooked up to mine, and simply plugged it in and started the system up. Oh…just thought of something….does the controller card have 2 sets of fingers or just one? If it has 2, then it's an AT style controller and may not work. If it has just one set (where it plugs into the motherboard)…then it's an XT style board and should work. Make sure it's properly plugged in…that is, that the board is fully seated in the connector on the motherboard. That is VERY important. Don
