#Game Debate

I was disappointed in the Bard's Tale II clue book–too detailed. The BT I
clue book left something up to the player, but this new one comes complete with
numbers. Not much to solve. As to the mindless hack and slash character of
Bard's Tale, I can tell you exactly why I like it. Or at least liked BT I–my
children have been playing II, but since I havn't finished I yet I'm waiting.
My characters all have personas, and are involved in a plot I make up in my
head. This may sound dumb, but when the game has too much plot, I don't like
it. However, we just got Ultima III, and I haven't had a chance to get into it
yet. We'll have to try Ultima IV and see if we like being forced to be good,
after having had only imaginary personalities in Bard's Tale. I wish I could
spend a week just playing games; but I don't even have time for a dungeon trip
per day right now! Tan
Thanks for your thoughts. Everyone's certainly entitled to like what they
want to like, and it's interesting to see different ideas on what's good and
why. We don't really disagree about Bard's Tale – you do acknowledge that it's
mindless hack-and-slash, and whether one likes that or not is personal opinion
and taste.
Thanks for stopping by, don't be a stranger! 🙂
Oh and be sure to download Amy Report. 🙂
Henry, I left a message for Robert Woodhead in GAMERS and he says within a year
he will blow our minds but he has no specifics at all about how he's going to
do so. Makes me wonder if he intends to do so on the Ami or some other machine.
Mr. WoodHead has been known for, uh, thinking rather highly of himself and
making statements like that. (Though he is a real nice guy.)
Considering he just bad mouthed the amiga on Genie a couple weeks back – Im
sure it wont be that. Hes working on a Mac II, so its probably for that (or at
least in the Mac line). Paul
