Hard disk woes time. The night before the AmiEXPO, I used the AmigaDOS
'format' command to clear the DH0: (two meg) partition on my Supra drive. I
thought this command would work fine, and after the format, the drive's
other 3 partitions were as normal. I loaded a few animations and pictures
into the DH0: partition, and everything seemed fine. Parked the drive,
and drove to Chicago. I never rebooted before I powered down, and voila,
when I tried to boot at the show, it wouldn't. Tried re-seating all the
connectors, tried swapping in another controller from Supra, to no luck. I
had to reformat when I came back home. Why did the 'format' command kill
my drive? Any hard disk experts have any advice?
Yeah, I do use the SupraFormat program, but didn't this time. It was supposed
to work with either one. Oh well. I'm Amiga 1000 SOTS, too. No 500 or 2000
for me… just two A1000s.
