Commodore, in my opinion, has a broad range of opportunities, and doesnt
NEED technology advances as much as it needs respectability and better
marketing distribution and support. What you mention is necessary but wont
mean squat unless marketing improves. Why is the Amiga selling overseas
now? They have marketing and distribution, and name recognition. When it is
percieved in the US that buying an Amiga is OK, people will buy them, no
matter what its got. Commodore now has a chance to rekindle the home
market bigtime. Apple has just about given up on the GS and, by some
reports the MACII, in favor of the MAC and the MAC 68030, perhaps leaving a
big hole in their line up. IBM never understood the home market. Atari is
just about gone. If commodore can convince 10% of prospective NINTENDO
buyers to get a serious machine with the ability to grow, at a marginally
higher price, the stock would be back up to 19 in no time.
