I recently posted a bug report to TALIN on BIX concerning Music-X filling in 0x00 after the name indicated in the librarian (whatever length was specified in the protocal editor, Music-X puts 0x00 in length+1 position). Any word on when this and any other bugs will be fixed? Thanks, Len W.

Len, 0x00 is the standard C terminator for strings, so the fact that it's there is most likely not a bug. Normally, the presence of the NULL is how the program tells to stop processing the string, but. if the NULL is being sent to the synth, that would be a bug. Do you know that the NULL is being sent or did you just see it in the file? David (another Music-X user who's interested) P.S. If you can remember, it's a good idea to send messages with the CIS PPN (MI's is 76004,2001) also. That way, the message will be marked for MI – there's less chance that it might be missed, and, you'll be able to see whether it's been read by the presence of an '(X)' after the recipient's name. 8)
