Omnikey Ultra + Ami
7 messages in this thread
Just got the Northgate Omnikey Ultra keyboard for an IBM type customer, and
noticed in the nice documentation that it has dip switch settings for the
Amiga 2000! And it works great! Using it right now, in fact. Great feel.
Gee, Northgate is on their toes. I love their Keyboards, I have purchased a
number of them for the PCs at work (The 102 and plus models). How to they
implement the Left and Right Amiga Keys? The extra Function keys?
They try to get them as close as possible, it appears, using the keys on
the IBM type layout. They include a map of the keyboard, showing where the
Amiga specific keys are mapped to on the IBM keyboard layout. It may be
possible to order one with the correct labeling…I'm gonna call them and
ask. They have a dip switch setting on their Omnikey Ultra model for the
Amiga. I'm just not sure if you can order it in an Amiga specific model
(that is, with the right keys on it already).

what is the price of a northgate omnikeyboard
I think the Ultra is $119.95.

Gregory,
I think it is the PLUS that is $119.95, while the ULTRA (new) is
$149.95.
The ULTRA has two sets of function keys – one set along the top and
another duplicated along the left hand side. The PLUS just has one set of
function keys along the left. I don't know if there are any other
differences/similarities – like if the PLUS will also work with the Amiga!
