]] "all I heard every time I crashed was "shoulda bought a Mac" and "My Mac never crashes"… Speaking as somebody who owns a Mac II AND an Amiga 2500HD, lemme tell you, the Mac crashes. Lots. (Especially with Nav 3.0.) It's a fact of life with the Mac, and it's something you learn to live with. It's like tap-dancing around land-mines–it can be done, but you just gots to be careful. Anyway, tell your Mac-friends they be nuts. –MFW

HI Marc, I didn't know you had an Amiga as well (as a Mac). If you find Navigator crashing on you, might I suggest Whap. I've never seen Navigator run, but Whap meets (and in most cases exceeds) my needs as a CIS tool. Being a sysop, you might ask one of the sysops here how it performs as a work tool for those types of tasks. Whap is available on AmigaTech DL16. See ya on the CEFORUM. Regards, Allen

I'm afraid I'm using my Amiga strictly for desktop video, in another room totally separate from my normal work area. I'm basically using the Amiga for video, and the Mac for "everything else," telecommunications included. Despite its instability, I really love Nav, and its occasional crashes just make life more exciting. 🙂 –MFW

You might be interested then in the AMax II. From what they say in their ads, it will allow hard drive (most SCSI controllers) support, read/write Mac 3 1/2' disks from an Amiga floppy drive and 'better' (their word, not mine) MIDI support. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me. 🙂 Regards, Allen

Steve, According to their ad in the August '90 Amiga World: "A-MAX II Plus available fall 1990. Upgrade information will be sent to registered owners of A-Max Version I." Lloyd

Steve, The ad I saw was on page 2 or 3 of the latest issue of AmigaWorld. Not sure about the upgrade path, but they indicate that it should be available this fall. Regards, Allen
