#Divine WARNING!
5 messages in this thread
Thanks, Bob – and sorry about your hard disk problem.
I've never tried putting it on hard disk, but I'm sure some people would do
that. I cannot understand the problem with Ezra, either. Strange!
I've not yet had a chance to get in touch with the author. Probably he has
found the problem and corrected it by now.

Betty,
An apology wasn't required. I LIKE DIVINE INTERVENTION!
I DID think the HD WARNING was necesary. THANKS for your Diligence!
You guys are the BEST!!

Remember, also, that any program that crashes while the drive is being
accessed is going to corrupt the drive. In other words, the software
probably did not corrupt your drive. The fact that your Amiga crashed
during disk access did.
(I think maybe this msg. was meant for me?) Martin,

HUNH?
WHAT caused the Amiga to crash? THE SOFTWARE! Not to mention, the
software was supposed to be READING, not writing, when it locked up the
machine. I have had other software crash (the Amiga) WHILE writing, and
upon reboot, a LOOONG validation was required. In no case has it corrupted
the drive ("Drive dh1: has a READ/WRITE error…"). Now I don't run that
software anymore, even though it never corrupted the drive. I don't like
tempting fate…
Maybe we are splitting hairs, here. Six of one, half-dozen of the
other 8-).
BTW, DIVINE INTERVENTION has never corrupted floppies, under the same
circumtances. So I run it from floppies. — Bob
The only point I was getting at is that a program would have to travel to
China and back (i.e., really go out of its way) to corrupt any drive
deliberately. The fact is, if you catch the Amiga at the right time when
you crash, you can zing a disk for sure, but no software that deals with
drive as a file storage device and talks to it normally would know how to
do this.
Anyway, I guess I was trying to split hairs from the start, so I'll just
wander off…
