Nathan,
It's sort of comforting to hear that someone else is battling this Windows
3.0 thing. I thought when I put in the new ESDI hard drive controller and
started using the floppy controller on IT that things might get better. I
still can't access my floppys AT ALL in standard mode. I have to use /R
for the real mode in order to get to the floppy's. I guess I need to pop
over to the Windows forum and post a message and see which one of those
cryptic lines in one of those .INI files needs to be tweaked.
I have to agree I much prefer Commodore's approach to configuring a system
and I don't know why IBM can't make their hardware more user friendly.
That was one of the claims they had for OS 2 and microchannel machines. At
least things work in Standard mode as long as I don't need to use the
floppy drives so I can now use PageMaker 3.01 and it is a BIT faster! Hope
you get your problems with the hardware worked out, good luck to you also.
