READING PAR: PORT

Does anyone know how to get the PAR: port to read data? I'm using AmigaBasic, and trying to read the port like a file doesn't seem to work. (OPEN "O", 1, "PAR:"). Do any wires have to be revesed as in a serial port? Any help would be appreciated.

Jon, No idea if it will work under BASIC, but yes, lines 1 and 10 need to be reversed to be able to read the parallel port. Don
