Jack – I seem to be having problems with the on-screen gadgets with 1.0. i'm running an overscan screen (708×462) and the gadgets seem to be shifted down and to the left from where the corresponding text is on the screen. has anyone else reported this kind of stuff or is my system just weird? …mike

William, They should be relocating properly. Are you using a fixed-witdh font or a proportional one? That will break the relocation code if you are. -jack-

Jack, Has the Zmodem code in JRcomm been directly ported from Chuck Forsberg's code, or was it re-written? The reason I ask is because I use SZ/RZ programs on my BBS for most protocol transfers and there are alot of failures whenever callers use JRcomm. Can you offer any insight on this problem?

Roger, The ZMODEM was based on rzsz source, but I modified alot of it. What type of problems are you having? I can't really discuss it without any detalied info on them. -jack-

I'm not certain at all about 1.0, but previous versions had the Zmodem problems. For the most part, it would react with many errors and then abort transmission, under conditions where other terminals perform well. I suggest you try SZ and RZ on the other end of a null-modem link and fiddle with it. If necessary, go back to JRcomm .94 or .93 for some insight into the problem. I have had similar problems using SZ/RZ with 'custom' Zmodem code on DOS machines, too. (i.e. not DSZ) In fact, quite bad things like aborting xfer because SZ sent a file path (with "/"). DOS programmers should know better, but then I'm rambling..

Roger, I've done extensive ZMODEM testing between two Amigas and also with a PC clone running Telix and DSZ. Since DSZ is the standard to rely against, you can understand that I more concerned with it working correctly with that than with some other port. I'll try to dig up the SZ/RZ stuff for the Amiga to see if I can spot anything in the meantime. Hope you can come up with some detailed problems so that I can try to pinpoint any remaining problems. Thanks. -jack-
