Hmmm. I have a Sony CD-531 drive…I was able to get it to work fine under
a beta of OS/2 2.1 using the mscdex command line that I currently have in
my autoexec.bat..I just put in the os/2 autoexec.dos? I have already
deleted os/2 so I forget exactly where it goes and then there is a driver
SONY210e.sys that goes in the config.sys although I forget exactly which
config.sys it goes in. It allowed me to use my drive from a dos window and
to use it with the one windows CD-ROM music player I have. My commands
(albiet I cannot tell you exactly where they were) were device=sony210e.sys
/d:mscd001 /u:1 /m:h and in autoexec mscdex /d:mscd001 /m:8 >nul. I do not
know if there are any drivers for running it under os/2 command line
exactly. I don't know about you, but trying to find ANYONE at SONY even
AWARE that they put their names on CD-ROM drives is like trying to wake the
dead. Uhm.. I guess you could say that it makes me MAD AS HELL.
