I am using the AMAS sound digitizer but get a "READ" error when I try to
use the file with AmigaVision. I am clicking on IFF and then Save. Do you
know what I could be doing wrong or who I could contact who might know?

Will the SOUND program (available as SOUND4.LZH here) play the files? I'm
not familiar with AMAS software. Is there possibly a compression option
that could be turned off?

AmigaVision wants sound samples that are 8SVX, not raw IFF. I haven't seen
the Amas software for some time, but trying saving in other formats if the
software supports saving in other formats.
Either that, or perhaps you have to save a range, or buffer of sampled
area. Is it possible that you are saving something other than an actual
sample, but saving a 'session' instead?
Hope some of my jabbering helps. If I had the Amas software I would have a
peek at it. As it is, I use Audiomaster 3.

I think you're a bit confused – there's no such beastie as a "raw IFF".
If the file is an IFF sampled sound, then it _is_ 8SVX. However, it may be
a "stereo" sample, which may or may not work with AmigaVision (I really
don't know). What you are most likely thinking of as a "raw" file is what
AudioMaster calls a "raw data file", which is interpreted as strictly the
sampled data. There is absolutely no "IFF" involved there, however.
Things may become a bit more muddied in the future, with the new
generation of sound boards that will be appearing. I don't know if they
will be using a different IFF 'FORM' for 16-bit samples, but I suspect so
as the 8SVX seems to be hardwired (as the name implies) to 8-bit samples.
At that point, an IFF sound sample may or may not be the same as 8SVX.
As far as Scott's original question, I also have no idea as I've never
used the AMAS package.
