You can download the file CDROMF.ZIP it has a drive comparision chart that
might give you more information. Also it has the phone number for Hitachi
so you can call technical support.
I have a Hitachi CDR-1503s, which is the external predecessor to the 3500.
If you look at the card, it should say something like CD-IF14 or CD-IF14a.
These cards are a Hitachi proprietary CD-ROM interface, which is nice for a
tiny speed increase and normally a memory usage decrease, but horible for
compatibility with software (especially operating systems such as OS/2). I
