I am having MaxiPlan run on my hard drive. Everytime (well almost) I
attempt to run it via Icon it GURU's on me, with a sofware error. (error
number is 00000003.0024E728) What ever this means? Anyway, I tried running
it via CLI by typing RUN PLAN and it seems to work or atleast boot-up.
There seems to be two programs "MaxiPlan program" this is the one with the
Icon and "Plan" which does not have an Icon. I even tried to assign
MaxiPlan: dh0:MaxiPlan but that did not work either.
Can anyone help me with this? I sure would like to run it on the hard
drive.

The assign statement you're using is the same as the one I use. Try
checking the default tool of the icon with the WB Info menu pick. There
used to be a bug there where an invalid tool name could be generated, and I
don't know if it was ever fixed. I gave up trying to start Maxiplan from
Project icons long ago. Even when I got it to work, the program couldn't
find its help files when started from a project icon in another directory.
(I'm a couple of versions behind. Sort of gave up on Maxiplan, too.)
Also, check the stack size of the icon. It should be at least 20000.
GURU 3 is a 68000 trap/Address Error.

The Icon does not have a default, it only has a tool type and the stack is
a strange 4096. I guess this means I can't run it from my hard drive?
Have you tried running the "plan" program only? If that works then all I
need to do is make an Icon for it.

I'm afraid that you must have a later version of Maxiplan than I do, since
the program is named 'Maxiplan Program' on my version. (i.e., I don't have
a program named just plain 'Plan').
You should, though, be able to run it from your hard drive. First thing to
do is to try changing the stack value to 20000. If it behaves differently,
that is a good clue. You might have to use a larger value if 20000 doesn't
work.
Perhaps someone else in the Forum can help out.

The plan program does not have an Icon and can be seen via CLI, but I
think you know that. I will change the stack to see what happens.
I saw David's reply and thought I'd comment. My Maxiplan's (version III)
info file has a stack of 20,000. Runs fine from the HD. I'd first try
that; install on the HD, change the .info file's stack to 20000 and then
try it.
Out of curiosity, what Maxiplan do you have? It has been know over the
years as: MaxiPlan, MaxiPlan 2.0, MaxiPlan 500, PlanIt, PlanIt 2.0,
MaxiPlan 3.0, MaxiPlan 3.5….. others too, I'm sure, but I've lost track

The Maxiplan version I have is not Maxiplan III. I will try the stack
anyway to see what happens. Thank you and everyone who has left
their reply.
I have Maxiplan 1.9 installed on dh0: and it runs without any problem. Info
on Maxiplan Program icon shows stack set at 10000 – I don't remember
altering it at any time. Have you assigned "maxiplan disk:" correctly in
your startup seq?
