Lou, just received my AmigaWorld Animation II tape today, plopped it in the old VCR, and boy, that is a wonderful tape! While there are always those that really 'stand-out', the thing I was most impressed by was the variety and general increase in quality in amiga anims overall. No longer are we bearing dozens of spinning mirrored balls and ray-traced spacecraft…. there were plenty of nicely hand-drawn anims there (maybe I misjudged Disney's product!) and some nice composite live action/digitized ones as well. An overall excellent showcase for the Amiga. It's really thrilling to see that many were done on A1000's and with just DPaint, for instance. It shows that you don't need thousands of dollars of hardware to do good animation…. don't need no stinking 68030's here (IBMers/MACers, eat your heart out) 🙂 Only -1- suggestion: How about a short 1-2 page 'Program Notes' inclusion? I'd love to have a nice short paper that lists title, credits, timing, date, etc…. (maybe machine used, type of animation, etc). Would make using the tape in an 'informational' setting more productive. Consider it? (maybe upload a text file annotating it for those of us online?) Anyway, I can tell you put a lot of time into getting the anims onto tape correctly, and do appreciate your efforts. Thanks a lot for the excellent work! (BTW everyone, you can purchase it for @ $20.00 directly from AW magazine – check it out!) –jp–seattle–

I agree — Lou could simply run a 2-page article in AW with a tiny-print sidebar listing the contents and tech stuff. It would certainly help sell tons of the tapes, and AW could be forgiven this bit of self-indulgence by pushing the "look how much Amiga animation has evolved" aspect. Advertising disguised as enlightening the masses? Sure! AW wouldn't be the first company to do it.
