I have a problem I hope someone can answer. I have a panasonic kxp1124 and
I have downloaded the files from the printer driver section, used
preferences to select either of the 2 that I downloaded, saved the
configuration file to my boot disk, rebooted…
but anytime I access the printer from any program or CLI, the computer pops
up with a guru error, asks to shut down all disk activity, and click
<cancel>, I have found the low end "fx" driver for epson works, but I
bought a 24 pin printer to use all 24 pins, not just 9 🙂 thanks for
anyone's help in this manner, (oh, and the EpsonQ driver doesn't work
either grrrr.)
I use the NEC Pinwriter driver for my 1124, it works great! (and supports
360X360 resolution)
I'd suspect your problem is probably some corrupt file in your DEVS
directory, though it's kind of wierd the the FX drive would work, unless
its actually the printer driver thats corrupt.
I'd try making a new Workbench disk from your originals, or by recopying
your DEVS directory to your hard drive, if you have one. If that doesn't
work could you describe the GURU better. Bob Comer – via Whap!
sure thing, will mark the guru error number down after I cause it to do so
and will get back to you on this subject… will do as you suggest also,

Probably a silly question…but did you extract the drivers from
the archive file before you installed them?

yes, I got one file, panasonic.020 and one called panasonic1124 after
unarc'ing them. they are each about 7k big, and were found on the printer
driver's dl section.

Ok…well, I don't know what to tell you then. You might want to
try to contact the author…see what they say.

I have both of the drivers you downloaded, and they work fine on my
machine. The panasonic.020 prints a little faster on my 1124. Its nice to
be able to chose which font to use from within ProWrite–IMO the NLQ print
option with font 2 gives the best looking output.
