Hello All! I've been away for a looong time now (major remodel on house, job change, etc), but will be checking in frequently again starting RSN. Have missed all the conversations with all the good people here, and all the good advice to be had. I have a lot of catching up to do. Some burning questions… are the graphics, multimedia CO's still going on? What version is Imagemaster up to now (17.1?) 🙂 Is WB 3.0 out yet? 🙂 Anyway, this is just a 'I'm back' message… OH YEAH, ONE MORE THING… (and a major reason for a good deal of my absence over the past few months) ta ta de dum…. Announcing the birth of my son: Tristan Hagan Pendergrass July 12, 1992 — 07:43 AM Vital stats: 10lbs, 3oz (yep!); 22 inches Mother (Colleen) and baby are doing well. I, as you may guess, am pretty darn happy. Be talking to you. ttfn –jp–seattle–

John: Congratulations!!!! 🙂 And… Welcome back, we missed you. Was the job change a minor change of employer, or a major carreer change? The latest version of Im is 9.13, I think the multimedia CO's are still going on (although I'm not real sure), and no, WB3.0 isn't out yet. (but 2.05 is I believe, although it's a small change only to support extra hardware on the A600) Is Tristan your first? If so, welcome to fatherhood, you're in for lots of fun, and other adventures. (if not the first, you already know that!) -Mike Schiller In sunny Fort Lauderdale

Mike, WB 2.1 has already been sent to developers for beta testing. Dom Fontana

Dom: What's been sent to developers, and whats RELEASED are 2 different things. I was mentioning what's been released, not what might or might not be in the hands of developers. -Mike Schiller In sunny Fort Lauderdale

Mike, I know there's a difference between what's released and what's sent to developers. John said he wanted to know the latest news. When you mentioned 2.05, and that's not even going to be released in the U.S., I thought that maybe you weren't aware of 2.1, which to me would be bigger news. If you were already aware of 2.1, and just didn't want to tell John, then I'm sorry. If you weren't aware of it, well now both you and John are. 😎 Bye. Dom Fontana

Actually, a local dealer has gotten WB2.05 with some of the newer 2000s so apparently, it is being released to the US. The last batch of 2.0 upgrade kits had 2.04 though. Developers also sign statements of non-disclosure in regards to anything Commodore may or may not have available for them. What developers have access to should not be public concern until Commodore sees fit for the public to know. I'm sure we'll be surprised! 🙂 Dan McCoy – via Whap! and saving money doing it too!

Dan, I thought 2.05 was only for the A600, but maybe I'm wrong. What if any capabilities does it add to the A2000? I thought it just provided support for the A600's Ram port and would function the same as 2.04 on an A2000. As far as 2.1 not being a matter of public concern until it's released, well gee, most of us were talking about 2.0 for years before it was released. Dom Fontana

Does anyone know if the new 2.1 will support more than 1 HighDensity drive installed at the same time. It is very tricky to get one set to DF1: now. It is like the computer doesn't have a way to sense what format it is. You have to leave the motherboard jumper set to DF0: to get it to work. JOHN – The Lost Southerner!!

John, Any 2.1 release that is/isn't being worked on is not final…thus what may or may not be available in it at some later time can't be talked about now. Don

John, Sorry, I don't know anything about 2.1 other than it's being tested. Dom Fontana

Uh… Commodore is shipping 2.05 in the US machines now. 🙂 -mark= – whappity whap whap… whap whap!!

Mark, Someone else mentioned that to me. I thought the main, if not only difference was that it took advantage of the A600's RAM port. Are there any differences non-A600s owners could use? Thanks. Dom Fontana

I understand that 2.05 has a nice new setpatch that corrects some bugs that were in 2.04. -mark= – whappity whap whap… whap whap!!

About time! I had to put an APB out on you 🙂 I thought only paralysis would keep you away from here, but I guess fatherhood is the next best thing. You have 16 hours to catch up, so gittyup, you have no excuses now for nine (and a half) months. –pt–not seattle– 🙂 –Paul
