Jack: I bought a real nice 2-drive external case for my drives. Looks just
like one you would get for a Mac. Comes with a 60-watt power supply,
internal cables, 2-50 pin SCSI connectors for external mounting, etc for
$129. It runs the Toshiba CD-Rom drive and a CDC Harddrive just fine. If
you need the info, just let me know and I will pass it along.

thanks for the info. i was thinking of using a normal "mini tower" ibm pc
case for the case and the power supply. they sell for around $60, with a
~150 watt power supply. it doesn't have exactly the form factor that an
amiga does, but…. it would have at Least 3, probably more like 5, 1/2
height bays for drives and other accessories. comments?

That sounds like a viable way to get more SCSI bays Jack, and I know
someone who has done that around here and it works fine. I was just
pointing out some alternatives and the external SCSI case was one of them.
Seems like with all the SCSI devices out on the market, you can never have
too many drive bays just as you can never have too much memory. Us users
tend to fill them up in a hurry.

That's just the sort of case I am using for my external drives to an A3000.
It is a mini-tower with a 300watt supply. Cost around $84. Accomodates two
external 5.25" 1/2 height and two external 3.5" with room for more internal
drives. It has a CDRom, Syquest and 3.5" SCSI tape drive in it now.
