I've been reading your thread about the Sony EVO-9650 and I have a
question. I read a discussion of formats for single frame animation where
the author criticized the 8mm format because it wasn't rugged enough for
this kind of editing. Have you had any experience with tape wear or quality
loss after animating to it for a while?
How does the Hi-8 format (with its dropout correction) compare with a
bigger format like u-Matic? I'm using a VO-5850 u-Matic recorder at work
and I like the results so far.
GSA price on the 5850 is about $5500. What does the EVO-9560 cost?
