I am trying to help a professor at a local university equip a graduate computer
science class with
some software. The class is a follow-on to a more theoretical course in
Multimedia Systems. This
course will offer extensive hands on in designing multimedia and also in
analyzing multimedia performance( since it is a graduate course in a computer
science department.) The professor is willing to write a report, have the
students do some beta testing, etc. But because they are a state university
they do not have much money for software. The professor is looking for some
contacts in Autodesk to see if this company would be willing to donate software
in exchange for something to be determined. They would particularly like
Animator and 3D Studio. The class will be working on projects such as
preparing the best performing diskette based multimedia titles. I am sure that
these students will develop some clever techniques that could be shared in
exchange for the software.

in Jeffrey Pike's absence. I can't do it until Tuesday when they all get back
from their holiday weekend. We'll see what happens.

I saw your question here. As Joe said the main sysop will be off here for a
while. The program you want to link up with is the University Partner program.
The schools provide some research oriented feed back to the education dept.
This is reported in a yearly gathering of articles published by that dept. I'm
sorry I do not have more specific info but will see what I can get for you this
week and will read the other responses to your thread.
I am interested in more info on the type of class, content and outcomes as I
develop more curriculum for my own classes. This forum provides a great place
to share curriculum ideas. The technology is moving so fast that this is the
only medium that can provide the info needed at a soon enough pace. It would be
great to have the instructor log on here also. Discussion of topics dealing
with MM is very welcome. Thanks,

Hi, Ed I am a senior student majoring Broadcasting in University of North
Dakota, I am really interested in Multimedia, and I am interested in those
sofewares, too. I will graduate on May 1994 and I am looking for graduate
schools which have multimedia programs. Can you give me more information about
your university? How can I apply for it? What do they require? Thank you very
