Using Grolier's MultiMedia Encyclopedia, 1992, for DOS 5, in pioneer DRM-604X multiplatter drive, 33 mhz 386 system, DOS 5.0, qemm 6.02, PAS-16 (irq=7, dma=3, SB emulation default irq=5, dma=1). Unable to get sound via sound card – presence or absence of sndbk12.sys (and its interrupt and dma specs) makes no difference. If i set audio=redbook in NGME install, then can hear sounds from sound menu via headphones (but not via PAS with either 0, 3=SB, or 6=redbook). However, there is no sound with the videos that are apparently supposed to have audio with them (e.g., rocket launches). When i run ngme, msg states that database=249 K. Config.sys device = c:\qemm\qemm386.sys ram rom x=b000-b0ff X=c000-c800 x=f000-ffff x=d800-dfff dbf=2 BREAK=ON BUFFERS=1 FILES=8 LASTDRIVE=Z DEVICE=c:\qemm\loadhi.sys /r:2 c:\uspi14.sys shell=c:\dos\command.com /p /e:300 DEVICE=C:\QEMM\LOADHI.SYS /R:1 C:\PAS\MVSOUND.SYS D:3 Q:7 DEVICE=C:\QEMM\LOADHI.SYS /R:1 C:\PIONEER\DRD60ASP.SYS /D:MSCD001 /N:6 /S:2 /C:CDP INSTALL=C:\QEMM\LOADHI.COM /TSR /R:2 /RES=6256 /SQT=CC00-CCFF C:\DOS\SHARE.EXE /nc deviCE=c:\qemm\loadhi.sys /r:1 D:\NGME\sndbk12.sys 1 5 220 2 stacks=0,0 Suggestions? FWIW, setting mvsound to q:5 locks system. Thanks in advance. –ed
