I have an IBM PS/2 model 56slc, and have installed a trantor 228 to drive an
NEC CDR-73 (they came
together).
I purchased OS/2 2.1 on CD and have had little luck installing. Intermittent
read errors, retry gets me
only so far, never at the same point.
Word is that the OLD trantor drivers (9/92) work much better than the new ones
(5/93). I was only
able to get the new ones, which work less than admirably.
Can I still get the old ones? Is there any truth to the rumor that the new
ones are shelfware?
Thanks for any help on this topic,

Well, IBM has been using the new drivers without trouble for some time now! We
haven't seen any problems with the new drivers, but there are even newer
drivers than what you have on the Trantor BBS (they will be here next week)
that you can try if you like.
