We've had a question from one of our shops about an Adaptec card, the 1542C.
Someone had told them that the entire stock of 1542Cs had been recalled. Is
this true? If so, what steps should he take?

No, as far as I know, they haven't been recalled. There have been some in-line
changes made because of problems found with some poorly shielded cables on the
market… but I wouldn't worry about your existing cards and setups at all.
