I don't know if this is the proper forum but: I have been trying to get a Bernoulli 90 transportable 90 Pro to work with an Adaptec 1542C on a 486 since early March. I have just installed EZ-SCSI and version 1.2 of the OAD drivers. I have spent hours on the phone with Iomega tech support moving device= lines around in the config.sys file. I have the Bernoulli installed as the only device on the SCSI chain and have no other TSRs, programs or such running. I have just connected the sixth set of SCSI cables. What happens: During execution of the DOSCFG.EXE driver program, the system will go into a cold boot … most of the time. I have just completed 12 resets. DOSCFG.EXE worked properly 7 times in no discernable pattern. The other five resets resulted in a cold boot during execution of DOSCFG.EXE. I am trying this forum because I have also had a similar problem when reading files from a Fujitsu 650 Mbyte external hard drive. The system goes into a cold boot in the middle of a job for no apparant reason in a seemingly random pattern. Software, config.sys, or cable changes seem to have had no effect. It happens with two different devices. The only thing left seems to be the 1542C. Help, anyone?

Sounds to me like you may have a cabling problem. Best bet is to contact the Adaptec Tech Support line at 800-959-SCSI (800-959-7274) I'm not really up to speed on the 1540 series products, but they can give you the right info there.
